Exeter Castle Courtyard is open Monday to Friday throughout the year from 7am to 7pm.
If you would like to have a private tour please contact us via this website, our in-house guide is available by appointment.

Our guide Dudley Coles has spent nearly twenty years involved in all aspects of the Castle and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of its history from the days of William the Conqueror to the present. The city “Red Coat” tour guides will also be including Exeter Castle in their regular itinerary.

We have ample parking in the courtyard, however there is a 3.6m height restriction, so coaches or other vehicles unable to fit under our portcullis will have to use one of the local coach parks.
